News: Ratatat Reveal Funky New Single

Ahead of their performance in the massive Sahara Tent at Coachella on Saturday, experimental alt-rock-meets-electronica duo Ratatat premiered a new track entitled “Cream on Chrome” via Youtube. The lead single from their upcoming fifth studio album, due out sometime in 2015 via XL, is a satisfying chillfunk tune with plenty of the varied instrumentation and subdued guitars fans of the Brooklyn-based act know well. It’s a solid offering from a group which hasn’t released new music since 2010’s LP4.

Ratatat is currently only scheduled to play a few solo dates and a smattering of festivals, including Coachella Rd. 2 next weekend and NYC’s Governor’s Ball in June. The release of LP5‘s first single could mean the cogs are in motion for a summertime album drop & a support tour to follow – keep it locked to Alternate Frequency for updates on that.
