(ALTFREQ PICK) Datsik @ Echostage – Steez Promo does it once again with a huge, multi-faceted Mega lineup at one of the nation’s finest venues. Of particular note for me is Trolley Snatcha, whose spot near the bottom of the lineup borders on blasphemy. The UK legend has been a part of the dubstep movement from more or less square one – we’re talking back in the early Dub Police days – and you’d do yourself a disservice by not making it to Echostage in time for his set.(Tickets / Info)

(ALTFREQ PICK) Autograf & Zimmer @ U Street Music Hall (LATE SHOW) – These days, a new subgenre of house music seems to sprout up every time an artist finds a new instrument to augment his beats with, and as such it often becomes hard to keep up with the nomenclature. In my mind it doesn’t matter what you call the music so long as it’s good, and that’s definitely the case with Autograf and Zimmer. It’s deep, it’s equal parts funky and chill, and marimbas may or may not be involved; what’s not to love? This event (like many weekend shows at U Hall) is free before 12AM for those over 21.
